Suzy Systems is proud to announce the release of Version 3.91.  This release contains many useful and exciting features.  This release is included to all users with current software maintenance contracts.

List of Enhancements:

2. – Patient notes indicators improved
3. – Superbill can now be sent via email
4. – Rx Writer enhancements
5. – Doctor Information now includes email address

1. – Import of scanned images into patient information screen:

The card scanning software has been linked to the image browser so that a picture on any scanned ID card can be easily imported into the patient information screen with only a few clicks.  Note that the card scanned can be any wallet sized card such as a driver’s license.  When upgrading to 3.91 it will not be necessary to rescan any cards to use this feature.

To use this feature you need to first scan in the appropriate document in the same manner that you would scan in an insurance card. We recommend scanning the document and associating it with the 3rd insurance company.   In the example below the document has already been scanned and the user is viewing it (from the 'View/Scan Insurance Cards' on the Patient Information Screen)

Now right click on the image description (upper right).  A pop-up menu appears.

Click on 'Export this Image' and the Suzy Image Browser opens.

Now use the control keys and mouse to resize the image and correctly position the selected area.

Now click on the camera in the toolbar.  The image browser closes and the selected picture now appears on the patient information screen.

2. – Patient notes indicator enhancements

The patient information screen display has been enhanced to indicate which notes have been entered for a patient and whether or not there are any detailed notes.  Here is a portion of the patient information screen when there are no notes or detailed notes.  Note that the detailed notes flag (the pencil) is pointing down and the notes flag (just under it) is just a grayed-out flag.

We now enter a information into patient notes and detailed notes.   Here is what the patient information screen now displays:

Note the pencil in the detailed notes flag is pointing up, and the notes flag contains a red and green square indicating there are medical alerts and billing information notes.   (The new notes display also appears on the appointment card and services screens)

6. – Email Provider's Schedule using Microsoft Outlook

Right clicking on the Doctor's name from daily schedule, provider view now displays an option to email the Doctor their appointments for that day.   If we right click on Dr. John Doe's name, the usual pop-up appears but now there is an additional option to 'Email Schedule'.

If we click on that a window will appear showing Dr's email address with an option to enter an alternate address.

We can now use the Dr's email address or enter another. If we click on "OK" a window will appear requesting confirmation to send the schedule.   Clicking OK will send the email to the selected email address.   Below is a copy of the email received.

7. – Names for Blocked Appointments now Exported

By enclosing the patient's name in '#' characters in the notes field, the name will appear in the file created by the Appointment Exporter and also on the Appointment Book Activity Report.   This allows prospective patients to be entered into the schedule and appear on appointment activity reports and activity export reports without having to enter them as patients into Suzy.

Here Mr. Ned Noshow wants to schedule an appointment with Dr. John Doe on July 1st at 10AM.   We go to that date in the scheduler, point to the correct doctor and time, and click on Options on the toolbar and select 'Block/Unblock Appointment'.

We now double click on the slot to bring up the Appointment Card.  We then enter the appropriate information, which in this case is the patient's home and mobile telephone numbers, and the procedures to be performed (optional).   We now enter the patient's name in the Notes field surrounded by '#'.   The name must be in the format 'Last, First' just like when we enter a patient into Suzy.

When we click OK the appointment is now displayed on the scheduler with the patient's home telephone no.

Now if we run the appointment book activity report for that date, this is what will appear:

Note that the name as been extracted from the notes field (which shows as 'Purpose' on this report) and shows in the patient name field preceded with a '*' so we know the patient's name is not stored in Suzy.  If we choose to export the appointments (if we were sending the information to another application such as Televox), the name would appear in the same manner except the '*' would not be present.
