If needed, you can close a live action at any time.
- To close a live action, click into the details page.
- Click the red Close Mission button.
Please note: there are a few things to take into consideration before closing an action. Once an action is closed, it cannot be reopened, and there are a few scenarios where closing an action early may affect your sample composition and/or results.
Closing an action with quotas or a gender split
If you close an action that contains quotas or a gender split, your originally targeted sample composition will be affected. When you click Close Mission, the platform will prompt you with two options for how you’d like the platform to finalize your data:
Close your survey and keep your data as-is:
✔ Excess respondents (groups that have oversampled) will not be trimmed out
✔ Any groups that have not met their target N size will remain unfulfilled
✔ All respondents will be included in your in-platform results
✔ Gives you the highest possible total sample size
✔ Results will not align with your originally targeted sample composition
Close and remove response overages:
✔ Excess respondents (groups that have oversampled) will be trimmed out
✔ Any groups that have not met their target N size will remain unfulfilled
✔ Trimmed respondents will not be included in your in-platform results*
✔ Gives you a smaller total sample size
✔ Results will more closely align with your originally targeted sample composition
*you will have the option to include trimmed respondents in any raw horizontal data exports
Any respondents that are trimmed are still treated as survey participants when it comes to previous action targeting. So if you retarget an action with trimmed respondents, those respondents who were trimmed out of your data can still qualify for your new action.
Closing a MaxDiff survey:
We strongly recommend you allow your MaxDiff action to fill to the minimum number of respondents (noted above). If your MaxDiff action is closed early or does not fill to the specified number of respondents, there is a possibility that your study is not experimentally balanced, potentially causing exposure biases towards certain attributes. If you must close a MaxDiff action early, your results should be interpreted in a more directional sense.
